Amazing kayak at an equally Amazing shop!

Love, love, love this kayak!

I bought it when I was close to 300lbs, given its 400lb weight limit. It handled perfectly at that weight as well as at my current weight of 230lbs. So it's a great option for bigger folks.

The included stadium seat is incredibly comfortable. The height doesn't seem to pose a problem given the boat's incredible stability.

Speaking of, stability is solid - this is a very stable boat. But you should know that Crescent opted for more secondary stability vs primary, which means that this boat may feel a bit "tippy" at first until you get used to its characteristics. The good news is the increased secondary stability means that you're not going to flip fully over unless you really try. This design allows for some really fun mild whitewater river running without constantly flipping out of the boat.

Tracking is fantastic due to its full length keel - even on flatwater. But you're not limited to just calm waters with this! The raised bow and overall hull construction allows for great handling on Class I-II rapids.

It's 11' length allows for reasonable speed.

The only drawback for some may be the size/weight. At 11' and just over 60lbs, it's not a small kayak. Be sure you have a way of handling/loading this before buying. Also there are no built-in storage hatches; this can be a pro for some and a con for others. The con is obvious - less storage, but the pro is that the boat is a solid, one-piece design that does not intake water into the hull at all. Despite this, storage options are still available on this model! There are bungee tie-downs in the rear, and up front there is a paddle keeper pocket to slide your paddle in when not using (in addition to paddle bungee holders on the sides; I end up using the pocket up front more often). The paddle keeper pocket up front also has a zippered pocket that you can fit your phone, keys, etc., in that is nearly waterproof. There are also optional Crescent branded pockets (non-waterproof) you can install anywhere on the boat to hold whatever you'd like.

Overall, I highly recommend this kayak to anyone looking for a solid SoT that can do both flat water and river running. I especially recommend it for larger folks who have a hard time finding a boat that meets their weight requirements.
